DOTTING MY i’S

Part 1:

I bet you’re somewhere quoting movie lines
I know all your favorite ones

Do you remember that time at the theatre
We both screamed “That’s so hardcore”

I know it could have been E.S.P.
I know it could be love

I know something here could be really, really, real
If you’d stay

I know that if I were to excersize my pen
A little more often

We could be happy and glad again
We’d be back to old Courtney and Zaq again

We’d never have to worry about a thing
Except maybe if we thought we might be
Worrying a little too much

I could write awful love songs like this all day
I could perform them by the hour

But it’ll never be the same
They’re gone
You’re gone
You’re gone

Part 2:

If only we couldn’t taken a little less time out of life
A little more for God

If only we could’ve taken a little less time to say
Oh, God

Oh, God
I know that I messed up
I know that I screwed up
And I know that you know that I know that I’m sorry
About the way I acted earlier yesterday
I know that you know how I feel
Oh, God, I wish my name had an
Almighty strapped to the back of it
I would undo the undone

I wanted to burn that church
I wanted to burn that church

This is the only time you’ll ever hear me say
I wanted to burn that church

Until I realized you with you were there
Quoting movie laines
I know all your favorite ones

Let it stand, let it stand

Let that church stand now
