I’m sure this is about to get media attention out of it’s ears, but I thought that I’d go ahead and rep this band before it blows up and I lose all indie cred. (Right?) Anyways, One Day As A Lion.

It’s a two man collaboration between Zach de la Rocha (singer/rapper/screamer for Rage Against The Machine) and Jon Theodore (former drummer of The Mars Volta). They’re from two of my favorite groups, so I’ve expecting great things. Their Self-Titled EP comes out on the 22nd, and there’s still no leak. (Not that I would download such a thing, no sir) However, you can listen to their first public song, Wild International at their myspace.

There’s no mind-blowing drumming here, unfortunately, but Jon Theodore has always been one to blend into the mix instead of standing out, while still sounding great. He defnitely delivers that here. And Zach de la Rocha delivers the complete opposite with his in-your-face keyboard effects and yelling.

Oh, did I mention that the band consists of drums, keyboards, and vocals? Yeah.
